Viking cooktop glass replacement
A cracked ceramic surface on a radiant or induction top. Not cosmetic — a crack on an induction surface is a reason to stop using the zone rather than to live with it.

How this visit actually goes
The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.

01
Establish what kind of damage it is
A chip at the edge, a crack across a zone and a scorch mark are three different conversations, and only one of them is urgent.
-
02
Identify the exact surface
Ceramic tops are model-specific and not interchangeable between widths or generations. The model number is read off the appliance rather than assumed.
-
03
Protect the counter coming out
Most of these are bedded into stone. Getting the old surface out without marking the counter is a real part of the job.
-
04
Re-seat everything the glass carries
On induction the coils and their sensors sit against the underside; on radiant the elements and hot-surface lights do. A new surface is not finished until those are proved.

Gas · Electric · Induction · Professional rangetop · 24" to 48" Viking cooktop repair in Miami
Two appliances and one word. A rangetop is a range's burner deck with cabinetry under it instead of an oven; a cooktop is the lighter equipment that drops into a worktop. Gas, electric and induction behind them fail in three unrelated ways, and only one of the three is really about heat.
- A zone that shuts itself down mid-cook
- The surface refusing to see a pan
- Controls locked, or answering a wet cloth
-
Open burner · Sealed burner · Dual fuel · Electric · Induction · 24" to 66" Viking range repair in Miami
The appliance this brand is named for, and the one place it does something nobody else does: an open burner that comes apart in your hands. Gas, dual fuel, all-electric and induction are all sold under the same badge, and a range that will not light and a range that will not heat are two completely different visits.
- A burner that sparks and never catches
- An oven that will not reach or hold temperature
- A door still locked hours after a self-clean

About Viking cooktop glass replacement
Why the surface is not cosmetic
On an induction top the glass is the only thing between a spill and a generator. On a radiant top it carries the elements and the hot-surface indicators. Either way, a cracked surface is structural to how the appliance works rather than a mark on the front of it.
What decides the figure
The surface itself, which is model-specific and the largest part of this row, and the access. A cooktop bedded into stone with a downdraft in the middle of it is a longer visit than one dropped into a laminate cutout.
What we will tell you first
Whether the glass for your exact model is still available, and what it costs, before anything is booked. On the older generations that is the question that decides everything else.

Questions about viking cooktop glass replacement
It is only a small crack. Can I keep using it?
On an induction top, no — a crack lets liquid reach the electronics directly underneath, and those are a power supply. On a radiant top it is a judgment call about that zone, and we will tell you honestly which one yours is.
How did it crack? Nothing hit it.
Thermal shock does it as reliably as impact — a cold pan onto a hot zone, or a boil-over onto a zone at full power. It does not mean anything was faulty.
Is it worth replacing on an older cooktop?
Sometimes not, and we will say so. On a discontinued top where the surface is scarce, the honest advice is occasionally to replace the appliance — that answer is free.
